Blacksmithing Field Day 2022

This millenia-old skill uses the power of fire to bend and forge metals. In ancient villages, tools, armory, weapons, cutlery, gates and chain were most commonly made and repaired by the local blacksmith.

Fortunately for us, this art has not been lost and local blacksmiths held a presentation at Adrian and Esme Hobba’s property on the 30th of April. Blacksmiths demonstrated tool-fixing and tool-making techniques using charcoal-fired forges. Visitors watched the demonstrations and brought their own tools to be repaired.
